My wife and I wanted something festive for our lunch on a hot and breezy Thursday. We were invited to review one of the West Island’s new trendy Mexican restaurants. 3 Amigos is now located in the West Island at 50-A Brunswick Boulevard in Pointe-Claire.
The 3 Amigos brand now has 8 restaurants in the greater region of Montreal. For over twenty years they have served some of the best renowned Mexican fajitas, burritos, tacos, and guacamole. The restaurant was started by three buddies who wanted to bring the Mexican experience to Montreal. The first 3 Amigos were located on Sainte-Catherine Street in Montreal. The 3 sombreros have become a part of the landscape in Montreal and still growing.
I was happy to know they were coming to the West Island in 2022. There is parking galore, no worries. You can treat yourself to more food or drinks with the money you saved for parking.

3 Amigos is your one-stop for unparalleled cocktails such as margaritas, daiquiris, house sangrias, and Pina Coladas. They had to create a separate menu just for the drink selection. Your meal is not complete without one of these dazzling drinks. It’s a perfect way to quench your thirst for the fiesta that is about to happen in your belly with the food. The thing I love about Mexican food is the color of the food and drinks. It’s like a kaleidoscope of color ready to be digested. I love the unique Mexican themes in each of the restaurants.
Did you know that Mexican food is officially considered a cultural heritage of humanity by UNESCO? Mexican food is perceived as relaxed, fun, spicy, and festive in nature. There is a good chance you will hear Latino music blaring at a Mexican restaurant in the background signaling that there is a fiesta coming soon in your belly.

UNESCO describes Mexican cuisine as “elaborate and symbol-laden,” and goes on to explain that this culinary tradition is exceptional in its ability to “express community identity, reinforce social bonds, and build stronger local, regional and national identities.”

My wife and I were escorted outside and the weather agreed with us. The Mexican ambiance inside is great for larger parties when you want to bring more prominent groups. 3 Amigos is the perfect place to celebrate your birthday, have a family dinner, or organize an office party.
We were immensely taken care of by our waiter Varoun who suggested certain dishes to us. There was so much to choose from. So, with his knowledgeable experience, we finalized our choices.

Varoun suggested that we start with the entrée called Los Cabos Ceviche. It is seafood marinated in lime juice served on corn tortillas, tomatoes, onions, avocados, and cucumber. My wife and I are fans of seafood, so this was a perfect way to start our meals with this shared entrée.
This is a perfect place to create a little romantic atmosphere with your significant other. Call the babysitter and just let yourself go; you need a break.

My wife had the Pollo Poblano, a grilled chicken breast with melted cheese and a very Mexican poblano sauce. With sautéed onions and bell peppers, served on a crispy corn tortilla with green beans and lime-cilantro rice. Chicken is my wife’s favorite meat. She really enjoyed her dish.
I had the Burrito dish with steak. It is a soft flour tortilla topped with a lightly spicy “Salsa Tijuana” and melted cheese and served with refried beans, Mexican rice, salad, and sour cream. I have had authentic burritos in San Antonio in Texas, I can honestly say that my dish was far superior to the ones I had in Texas. The meat was so soft unlike some who have rubbery steak which makes the experience unenjoyable.
