In this day and age where a strong visual presence can compel the viewer to act decisively, or not, having impactful imagery can certainly give any food establishment an edge over the competition, the importance of this cannot be taken for granted, yet it happens all the time. A quick look through the multitude of food websites and it’s evident that not much thought was put into creating the images that represent the establishment.

According to a recent survey, in the USA, 45% of diners specifically look for photos of food while browsing a restaurant’s website and deciding where to eat. That percentage increases when we look specifically at younger diners, especially among Gen Z and Millennials. When it comes to advertising in this day and age, top brands understand that food photography is one of the most powerful tools they have at their disposal. They say we eat with our eyes first. A Psychological advantage that can’t be underestimated, or ignored.

When used correctly, it can be a determining factor in attracting new customers. From creating an inviting ambiance to mouth-watering food imagery, it all plays an important role and an important factor in future restaurant sales. It will take a restaurants’ branding and marketing from average to awesome. It has the ability to appeal to the consumer’s emotions, making them stop, look, and ultimately taste. A human desire we simply cannot ignore. Time to spice up those food shots and watch those sales grow!!!
