Pizza Fest MTL is turning October into one giant excuse to eat pizza, discover new spots and argue about which pie deserves the crown.
Montreal’s pizza scene is about to get a whole lot more competitive.
Pizza Fest MTL returns October 1 to 31, turning the entire month into a citywide excuse to eat more pizza. Nearly 30 pizzerias are taking part in the public vote, with participating spots serving featured pizzas and asking diners to decide which one deserves the crown. That means Montreal Pizza Month isn’t just about finding a good slice. It’s about picking sides.
And there’s more than a month-long popularity contest. Pizza Fest MTL’s Challenge 2026 takes over Marché Bonsecours in Old Montreal on October 26 and 27, with an all-you-can-eat pizza event and a competition built around some of the city’s pizza talent. For anyone who thinks they already know where Montreal’s best pizza is, October could be a useful reality check.
That’s what makes this interesting for Montreal diners. Pizza Fest isn’t asking us to agree on one style, one neighbourhood or even one definition of great pizza. It’s giving people a reason to try places they might normally skip, then letting the votes decide. With new creations, familiar favourites and a full month to make your case, Montreal’s pizza debate is about to get very serious. Bring napkins.
