Tony Medeiros and his daughter have a magical time at Juliette & Chocolat

Juliette & Chocolat is more than chocolate, it’s a festival for the senses.  My daughter and I were invited to the grand opening of their new location on the west island.  We were greeted with an overflowing chocolate fountain of delight.  I felt like I was on a Willy Wonka factory tour with my inner child.  This was not going to be a regular review of the norm.  There were kids with plastic bib aprons ready to get messy with their chocolate treats.  Yes, get ready to get messy with your chocolate food. This was a perfect opportunity to spend some quality father-daughter time at Juliette & Chocolat.  This is the place where your sweet tooth gets re-activated. Everything in the restaurant looks so chocolicious! That should be a word.

Tony Medeiros and his family try out the new BeaverTails in Vaudreuil-Dorion

BeaverTails evokes wonder for many people. I always get excited when I see a food truck at our local grocery store on the West Island. When you have a guest over, there is nothing great but to offer them a BeaverTail.  The company has come a long way from its original concept in 1978.  They now offer 12 different varieties of Beavertails.  Besides Tim Hortons, there is nothing more Canadian than BeaverTails. Dignitaries from around the globe have tasted Canada’s most famous indulgence. The brand is so popular that it reaches out to six other countries.

Tony Medeiros’ family celebrates Earth Day by getting take-out at Quesada

My wife and I had some take-out from Quesada Burritos & Tacos. For the past two years, I have strictly ordered through take-out. I can honestly say some of the apps out there are frustrating. Some are hard to navigate. Some just take away from the experience of ordering. Quesada makes it so easy to order. It was such a pleasure using their interface. It was so easy to use. Just enter your location and presto you are ready to order. Pick a time when you want to pick it up. You can easily customize your burritos. Select your burrito combo and pay. That simple. No hassles. The user-friendly app makes it a pleasure to order from Quesada. If you are not into apps, you can call or pick-up yourself.

He has cooked for celebrities. His wealth of cooking knowledge from every continent brought him back home to create a few restaurants in Montreal.  His passion now is with Beurre and Baguette. Your mouth will discover the plates he created from his travels. The ever-changing online menu has something for everybody.  You will find standards such as pizzas, kid corner meals for picky eaters, pasta meals, a variety of sushi, poke bowls and a wealth of salads. The menu keeps changing each day.

Tony Medeiros gets a tasting as Arahova opens its brand-new Pointe Claire location

The 10th Arahova location in the Greater Montreal officially opened in Pointe Claire on January 8, 2022, at the Sources Mega Centre near Brunswick Avenue and next to Les 3 Brasseurs. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and Quebec government regulations closing dining rooms, the Kalogrias family decided not to delay the debut and welcome customers for take-out and delivery.

Benny&Co. is proud to announce the launch of its products available exclusively in the 296 IGA grocery stores across Quebec.

Many consumers live in the age of convenience. For some families going to a restaurant can be a tall order. Sometimes restaurants such as Benny&Co. are not located close to their homes. Quebec is the rotisserie chicken capital for food lovers. Benny&Co. a family-run business is expanding to meet demand the appetite for chicken. Culturally, chicken is a safe food for many ethnic groups. The chicken business is growing stronger in the past year in the USA as well as in the Quebec market. Tony Medeiros Interviews Sara Bilodeau From 49th Parallel Café

Coffee connoisseurs rejoice, Montreal is about to get a new café from British Columbia. 49th Parallel Coffee Roasters has chosen to expand outside BC and picked Montreal as the first café expansion. MtlRestoRap’s Tony Medeiros had the opportunity to interview Sara Bilodeau the Café Director for 49th Parallel Coffee Roasters Quebec. She is very excited about the new location in Old Montreal this summer. 49th Parallel is going to be a very popular destination for coffee lovers. In addition to their coffee, the brand is bringing with them their oh-so-delicious Lucky’s Doughnuts (Beignes Lucky’s)! With mouthwatering doughnuts and irresistible coffee, Montreal’s first-ever 49th Parallel Café is set to become Old Port’s new go-to café this summer!

Tony Medeiros and his family enjoy a wide array of delicious selections from Cavallaro St-Jean

Cavallaro St-Jean has been in business for 12 years. Matthew Blanchette and his business partner took over in late 2020 at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. The two knew they had a tough road ahead of them, but both were ready for the challenge. Cavallaro is your one-stop shopping for European products such as pasta, tomato sauce, cookies and rare to find products at your local grocery store, priding themselves in finding the perfect gastronomic experience of imported products. They also believe in selling the freshest local products for their clients.

Tony Medeiros and his family try takeout from Les 3 Maria in DDO

Jay Ingber owner of Les 3 Maria and his two partners (Bobby Leftakis and Andrew Surowaniec) played softball and became enamored with Les 3 Maria, a Piri Piri Portuguese restaurant in Dollard des Ormeaux. They frequented the restaurant so often after their matches that just like the Gillette spokesperson, they liked the restaurant so much that “they bought the company.” Les 3 Maria began about six years ago. If you are wondering if three actual Marias were working there in the beginning, your assumption would be correct.

Tony Medeiros and Carmelo Borgognone have lunch at up and coming Gabrielle café in Old-Montreal

Gabrielle café is a quaint compact gem. It is nestled on the outskirts of Old Montreal west and knocks at the doorstep of trendy Griffintown. The surrounding area is not what it was a few years ago. Many abandoned dilapidated buildings resided without city intervention for years. The rejuvenation of the area is a bonus for the café. Adorned by new condos and businesses, it is sure to be a great hub to feed hungry mouths on the move in the area.

Tony Medeiros and Carmelo Borgognone are inspired by NELLi Café + Vin Nature: A never-before-seen contemporary classic coffee counter and wine bar

It is not every day I get to walk the cobbled streets of Old Montréal. There is a magical sound as your footsteps echo through the time-preserved buildings. I had the pleasure of reviewing a new restaurant named after Quebec’s own enfant terrible, Émile Nelligan and fittingly called NELLi Café + Vin Nature. Émile came into prominence at the age of 16, emulating Paris’ Arthur Rimbaud with his prose. Émile wrote 170 poems, sonnets, rondels, songs and prose poems. The melancholy poet is highly regarded in Quebec culture. That is why you will see his name extolled all over the Québec landscape.

Restaurant Kitchen73 experiments with carryout service at their Dollard-des-Ormeaux location

I had the opportunity to review Kitchen73 on 45A, Boulevard Brunswick, H9B 1P7 in Dollard-des-Ormeaux. (https://kitchen73.ca) They are located across from Cinémas Guzzo des Sources on Boulevard Brunswick. I elected to go in person for carryout.

The service was quick and professional. It did not take long to prepare my meal. The staff is well equipped to handle the current pandemic situation. Dino Semeraro, the co-owner of the Dollard-des-Ormeaux location, explained to me that they are keeping the two-meter distance rule by having a long table between the staff and the client when they are served their orders. The staff is taking every precaution and dressed to code with gloves and masks to help stop any transfer of COVID-19.
