Founded here in Montreal in 1992, Bâton Rouge Grillhouse & Bar has grown to serve up quality, fire-grilled food in 28 locations in Quebec, Ontario, and Nova Scotia. The franchise on Decarie has always been my “go-to” spot for this chain since it opened two decades ago.
With the family pretty much socially isolated from others since winter began, dinner take-out has become a fun and unifying family occasion. Additionally, our socially conscientious clan has become quite sensitive to the plight of local businesses and restaurants. We have made it a habit, during these quarantine times, to order-in from a variety of restaurants by proclaiming our Saturday nights as ‘Small Business Saturday’.
For so many years now I have walked or driven by Sushi Shop locations, but never stepped inside to order. With our family focusing exclusively on take-out and delivery options during the COVID-19 pandemic, we agreed to finally give this place a whirl. Let’s just say they can count on us being regular customers from this day forward. What a pleasant surprise the entire experience was.
Madisons Restaurant & Bar has always been one of those dining establishments I have truly appreciated for its well-balanced menu: terrific appetizers, salads, tartares, soups, burgers and sandwiches, steak, seafood, pasta, chicken, ribs, sides and decadent desserts. There is also a neat bar setup.
I must confess that it had been a few years since I dined at a Mikes Restaurant. But after going to a few movies at the Cinemas Guzzo Spheretech 14 in St. Laurent in recent months and seeing one of the new locales, I was anxious to give this iconic franchise another try.
