We have been touting the much-anticipated arrival of Milestones Restaurants, a leading Canadian restaurant chain, to Quebec for a few years now. Well, thanks to the team at Foodtastic, this exceptional dining experience has arrived at Fairview-Pointe Claire.
The 10th Arahova location in the Greater Montreal officially opened in Pointe Claire on January 8, 2022, at the Sources Mega Centre near Brunswick Avenue and next to Les 3 Brasseurs. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and Quebec government regulations closing dining rooms, the Kalogrias family decided not to delay the debut and welcome customers for take-out and delivery.
For years I have either driven or walked by one of the many 3 Brasseurs franchises in the Montreal area. Last fall I was invited to the Pointe Claire location for a charity breakfast to benefit West Island Community Shares. It was there that I met general manager Sam Pergantis, who encouraged me to come back for dinner one night. Recently, with a friend who resides on the West Island, I did just that.
The father and son team of Manny and Dalton Barnoff launched the chicken and ribs spot in 1967, using their last name as a play on words for the moniker. Tom McQueen would eventually enter the picture as a busboy, waiter, bartender, and manager before becoming a co-owner. These days the Barnoffs remain very much part of the picture. Manny, best known for radio commercials in which he tells potential customers to “Tell them Manny sent you,” is now 88 years old and lives up north. McQueen goes up there at least three days a week to keep him in the loop.
